Children's Social Care
Services provided

Once we have carried out the assessment, (Click here for more information on the Assessment Process) there is a range of services which could be provided.


These include:
  • Social work advice and support.
  • Information and help with state disability benefits and other financial support.
  • Information on support services such as day care, playschemes, leisure activities, short breaks,Direct Payments and home-based support.
  • Information on support groups.
  • Contact with health professionals such as Community Nurses, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Psychologists.
  • Contact with education such as Schools, Parent Partnership, and Special Education Needs Service.
  • Warwickshire Parent Partnership Service
  • Special Educational Needs
  • Occupational therapy assessments, adaptations and specialised equipment.
  • Support with the move from Children's Services to Adult Services at the age of 18.
  • Support and services for Carers, including young carers, such as brothers and sisters.

Within each of our five local areas there are specialist social workers for children with disabilities who can provide support and services.

There is also a Countywide specialist team for:
Services to Deaf People who offer support and advice to children who are deaf.
