Flexible Working

Under the Employment Act 2002, legislation was introduced to help working parents. Part of the legislation includes a right for working parents to request flexible working methods, such as, part-time working, job sharing, staggered hours or term-time working. This applies to parents of children aged under 6 and of disabled children aged under 18 , their employers will have a duty to consider requests seriously.

The factsheets below offer information and advice about making a flexible working request as well as explaining various options to consider with your employer. For further information about your own situation or for signposting to other agencies please contact us on 0845 090 8044..
