Permit for Creating Dropped Kerbs or Crossovers
If the access is on an A, B or C classified road, Planning Permission must be obtained from the District Council.
If you already have permission or if the site does not require planning permission,
contact County Highways
to request an application form for a licence to construct the vehicle access.
Please ask your contractor to complete and return the application form for Permission to Excavate in a Public Highway.
It is a requirement that the contractor has Public Liability Insurance to a minimum cover of £5 million and is accredited under the New Road and Streetworks Act 1991 to work within the public Highway.
Once we have received the completed application form, permission will normally be granted for the access to be constructed in accordance with our specifications. These specifications will be sent to you with the application form.
