UPMS Support
The UPMS process integrates your schools MIS data with the We-Learn portal. The following tools are designed to support and maintain this process.
PGF files are files generated from SIMS .net using an application called Command Line Reporting. These files contain data that is used to populate the We-Learn Portal and provision new email accounts. PGF Files are generated and sent to the Portal each night through an automated process that runs on your SIMS SQL (Admin) Server. The PGF Monitoring Service allows the ICTDS to monitor this process and ensure that your Portal data is kept up to date. This allows us to proactively support your school rather than you having to log a call if you feel your Portal data is not up to date. Using the PGF Monitoring Service we will know if your data is out of date before you do. The PGF Monitoring Service records the creation date and size of your latest PGF file and records this in an ICTDS Database which we monitor. This information is sent to us by the monitoring service using the internet.
If you have not yet installed the PGF monitoring service, please refer to the following guidance:
Installing the PGF Monitoring Service Guidance
PGF Monitor V3.1 - for Admin Servers
PGF Monitor V3.1 - for Curriculum Servers
If you are unsure if this service is already installed you will be warned when you attempt to install it again. If you receive this warning exit the application and continue to the PGF monitoring service upgrade.
For those currently using the PGF monitoring service please refer to the following guidance to upgrade the service to Version 3. Version 3 gathers PGF size, date, server name and IP and the date the information was reported. Version 3 also allows the monitoring of PGF files on curriculum servers. This extra information will enable us to improve out diagnosis of UPMS issues and speed up the resolution of issues.
