Welcome to Warwickshire County Council

Social History at Warwickshire Museum

The Social History collection reflects the lives, past and present, of Warwickshire people. It includes costume and textiles, dolls and toys, and a variety of everyday objects from ploughs to plaster ducks! The oldest item is a man’s embroidered shirt from c. 1610, and the newest is a ‘Bratz’ doll from 2007. Using a variety of resources, we work with local people of all ages and backgrounds to explore, collect and record different aspects of life in Warwickshire in the 20th and 21st centuries.
