Commercial waste
Commercial waste is defined as waste from premises used wholly or mainly for the purposes of a business.
UK businesses produce 75 million tonnes of waste each year, over half of which is sent to landfill. Businesses can reduce costs by rethinking their waste disposal options.
Warwickshire County Council provides free environmental support for business to help promote sustainable waste management practices and improve environmental performance.
Reduce
Carry out an audit of your waste operations and processes to see where you can reduce waste and save money.
Reuse
Think about whether you have items which could be used again. One company's waste is another company's resource.
Recycle
For items which can't be reduced or reused, recycling should be your next option to consider. If you require a collection of commercial (trade) waste and you are within the North Warwickshire, Nuneaton and Bedworth, Rugby or Stratford area of Warwickshire there are waste collection services offered by the Council.
Alternatively look in the directory section on Lets Recycle for information on recycling companies, or in the Netregs Waste Directory.
Disposal
Warwickshire County Council will accept commecial waste for disposal at Princes Drive and Hunters Lane recycling centres on a chargeable basis. Information on private disposal sites can be found in the yellow pages.
