| Staffordshire County Council (SCC) are proposing to build an Energy from Waste (EfW) facility at the Four Ashes Industrial estate in south Staffordshire. SCC approached WCC in the summer of 2007, to identify whether WCC would be interested in using this facility. After a full options appraisal it was decided that WCC would participate in the project. SCC submitted an Outline Business Case (OBC) for their project to Defra - there reference project was to develop a 300,000 tonne Energy from Waste Facility at the site at Four Ashes Industrial estate.
