Waste Local Plan for Warwickshire

The Waste Local Plan has been prepared by Warwickshire County Council in order to identify the most suitable areas for the processing and/or disposal of waste.

The Waste Local Plan was adopted in 1995 and is currently under review. Although Local Plans have been replaced with Local Development Frameworks this Waste Local Plan is saved until September 2007. It will be replaced by a Minerals & Waste Development Framework in accordance with the requirements of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act (2004).

The County Council made a case to the Secretary of State to extend the period for which a number of the policies within the saved Waste Local Plan (PDF - 96 KB) would be saved. Details of which policies have been saved beyond the 28th September 2007 (PDF - 81 KB) are providedhere together with a copy of the direction from the Secretary of State (PDF - 103 KB).

The Waste Development Framework (WDF) Core Strategy is currently in preparation. The Minerals and Waste Development Scheme (MWDS) sets out the timetable for the production of development of all Development Plan Documents (DPDs).

A copy of the adopted Waste Local Plan (PDF - 486 KB)) is available to download, as well as a copy of the Proposals Map (PDF - 105 KB). (NB - Refer to the schedule above which identifies which policies have been "saved").
