What is the VLO project?

Local help for local people in rural areasThis project is about providing local help for local people in rural areas across South Warwickshire. Many people in rural areas find it hard to access information. The VLO project is here to help those people.

What do the VLO’s do?
We have developed an extensive network of volunteers across the area, who are working with us to help signpost local people in their communities who want help finding out about a wide range of local services from job opportunities, training courses, childcare and/or leisure activities.
The local volunteer will help signpost people, by providing them with a contact for an organisation, and help address their individual needs.
The service is free and confidential and available to all.
All of our volunteers have access to the Internet, which they can use on your behalf to help you find out the information you want.

Where are our volunteers?
We have volunteers in the following locations:

Are you working in any of these areas?
If your organisation is working in any of these areas, we would like to hear from you. Our local volunteer may be able to help with the work that you are doing.
We hold regular meetings with our volunteers, across the Districts, in local libraries, and can discuss with them any new projects that are planned for their areas. These meetings are also opportunities for the local volunteer to share any ideas or highlight concerns facing their local community.
We are currently working with our key funders South Warwickshire PIE, Warwickshire County Council, Stratford District Council and Warwick District Council in developing initiatives across the District in areas where we have volunteers in place.
