Mentoring
| | |
Who is a Mentor?
A Mentor is a person outside the circle of family and friends, someone who will listen without criticising. Being a mentor costs nothing but time and you will see that the time you spend is having a positive effect on someone's life.
| | What makes a good Mentor?
A genuine interest in sharing their knowledge and life skills.
Sensitive to the needs of others.
Being approachable, flexible and open minded.
|
What will Mentoring do for you?
It will give you the chance to put something back into the community, it allows for personal development and also enhances existing skills. You will be able to see at first hand what a difference you can make simply by sparing
an hour or so a week. | Can you help?
If you are aged 16+, then yes you can. We don't expect you to become a counsellor, but provide an individual with support, and in turn we will provide you with continuous training and regular supervision sessions. |
Mentoring is powerful, rewarding and it works.
