14 - 19 Who We Are and What We Do

Core Purpose:

To support, challenge and assist schools and other providers to ensure the best possible education for Warwickshire’s children and young people.



Roles & Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
  • To ensure that 14-19 education is planned and delivered in a co-ordinated way.
  • To build collaborative partnerships with a range of providers in order to ensure the provision of the national 14-19 entitlement and increase the participation and engagement of all learners.

  • To ensure that education and training is high quality and contributes to raising standards.
  • To ensure that young people receive impartial information, advice and guidance on all the opportunities available to them in order to progress successfully to the next stage of learning or employment.
  • To help prepare young people for working life.
  • To ensure that 14-19 provision is inclusive.

Team Activities – Implementing the 14-19 Reforms:

  • Supporting schools to review and develop their curriculum to offer access to the new entitlement, eg planning for the 17 Diploma Lines.
  • Developing Impartial Information, Advice and Guidance for learners post 14, eg developing the area prospectus.
  • Leading and managing a county wide programme of practical and personalised learning opportunities, eg accredited vocational programmes across the ability range.
  • Supporting Special Schools and learners with learning difficulties to access a wide range of learning opportunities.
