14 - 19 Who We Are and What We Do

Core Purpose:

To support, challenge and assist schools and other providers to ensure the best possible education for Warwickshire’s children and young people.

Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

To build collaborative partnerships with a range of providers in order to ensure the provision of the national 14-19 entitlement and increase the participation and engagement of all learners.

To ensure that education and training is high quality and contributes to raising standards.

To ensure that young people receive impartial information, advice and guidance on all the opportunities available to them in order to progress successfully to the next stage of learning or employment.

Team Activities – Implementing the 14-19 Reforms:

Supporting schools to review and develop their curriculum to offer access to the new entitlement, eg planning for the 17 Diploma Lines.

Developing Impartial Information, Advice and Guidance for learners post 14, eg developing the area prospectus.

Leading and managing a county wide programme of practical and personalised learning opportunities, eg accredited vocational programmes across the ability range.

Supporting Special Schools and learners with learning difficulties to access a wide range of learning opportunities.
