TRAINING
Each operator is trained to a very high standard. Initial training consists of an intensive 6 months period, which forms part of a 2 year probation period. Operators are continually assessed with weekly written and practical examinations. Vocational training and courses, to advance career prospects and improve individual skills are encouraged. |
WORK PATTERN
The 16 Control staff are divided into 4 shifts and operate an average of a 42 hour week shift system consisting of 9 hour day duties and 15 hour night duties. Annual leave entitlement starts at 28 days and rises progressively with long service and promotion. In addition 12 days leave is granted in lieu of public holidays. |
PROMOTION
Subject to pursuing statutory examinations and promotion interview boards, operators have the opportunity, when vacancies occur, to apply for promotion through the current rank structure. |
