Regeneration
Queens Road Enhancements

As part of Warwickshire County Council’s and Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council’s regeneration programme for Nuneaton, we are undertaking some environmental improvements on Queens Road on the area known as “The Green”.

Local residents were asked for their views on the proposals through a questionnaire, a copy of which can be viewed on this page.

Residents views marginally favoured Option A and it was agreed to proceed with this option together with a complementary scheme on the opposite side of the road.

Work on the final phase of the regeneration programme on Queens Road started on Monday 7th July and was completed in late November with the planting of new trees. The environmental improvements around the area known as “The Green” and on the opposite side of the road consisted of resurfacing the footways using high quality paving together with additional benches and trees on The Green. The £95,0000 scheme is being funded by Advantage West Midlands and forms part of a number of projects being carried out in and around the town centre in partnership with both the County Council and Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council.

Before the work commenced Cllr Chris Saint, Warwickshire County Council’s Portfolio Holder for Economic Development, said: “I am pleased that this final phase of works on Queens Road is now ready to be completed. The environmental improvements will enhance the area and give the community a valuable open space that they can enjoy.”
