Welcome to Warwickshire County Council

TELAC - The Education of Looked After Children
TELAC – Children’s Information

Who are we?
A team of teachers who will help you to do your best in school

We will….

  • Visit you in school
  • Encourage you to do your very best
  • Talk to your teachers, carers and social workers about how well you are doing at school
  • Help to write a Personal Education Plan (PEP) with you, your carer, social worker and teachers at a meeting to talk about your future

Why do you have a PEP?
  • A PEP is a plan for what you want to do with your life
  • A PEP has the steps to take you to reach your goals
  • A PEP can help you say how you feel about lessons and school work
  • A PEP lets everyone know if you need more help in school – like books, a computer or someone to help you in class or out of school
  • A PEP also includes things you do out of school like sports or clubs. We don’t want you to miss out on them.

Revision and how to do it without falling asleep!

If you move

We can talk to your social worker and help to get a school place, or change schools at the right time like at the end of a term. It is very important that you do not miss any days at school. If there is a problem and you cannot go to school we will work with your social worker, carer and school teachers to help you so you don’t miss too much school and get behind with work.

If you get into trouble in school

We will work with you and school to try to stop you getting detentions or an exclusion. If you are excluded we will remind school that you need work to do at home.

Please remember!

If there are any problems in school please tell us about it when we visit, or you can contact us by:-
