| Waste Statistics |
Over 290,000 tonnes of household waste is disposed of in landfill sites across the county - this cost the County Council around £11.1 million in 2005 - 2006.
As landfill becomes more expensive - £3.7 million (2005-2006) in Landfill Tax - and we become more aware of the problems caused by waste to our environment, it is vital that we think about how we can reduce the amount of rubbish we produce.
