October 2008 is Walk to School month!
With so much in the media recently about child obesity rates, and traffic congestion around schools becoming unbearable, walking to school is fast becoming the best alternative to the car run.
Taking a "green" route to school can make a big difference. Less cars on the roads, less pollution, fitter children and parents and a much safer environment are just a few of the benefits.
Schools taking part in Walk To School Week can receive a range of FREE resources to help promote the benefits of walking and other sustainable modes of travel to parents, pupils and staff.
This year in May we took schools on a journey through the plains of East Africa following in the footsteps of Bloo the Gnu. A Blue Wildebeest on his annual migration.
