Mumbai, India

Following our success in linking Warwickshire schools with schools in Shenzhen China, funded by HSBC Bank, we set up an area link with the booming IT, business, tourist and film city (home of Bollywood!) of Mumbai, India in February 2008.

Headteachers of 8 Primary and Secondary schools from across Warwickshire, with the Head of Service, Schools, visited Mumbai, funded by the DCSF.

Partnerships and projects with partner schools will see joint curriculum projects, e-links and visits between the schools to enrich student learning and to develop global citizenship skills in our young people. Funding for the collaboration will be from the Department for International Development and in October 2008 Warwickshire Schools will host Principals and teachers from their partner schools, when they will develop pupil and curriculum collaboration as well as meeting face to face.
