International Opportunities in the Classroom
Students, teachers, school managers and governors can all benefit from a range of mainly funded training opportunities, to enhance and develop a European and international dimension to school activity.
The Languages Mean Business Conference
This has been extended to all students. Year 9 and Year 10 students (boys and girls) attend a day designed to raise awareness of the importance of post 16 and life long learning of foreign languages. The added value and career benefits of language learning are highlighted in a "What's My Line" session with role models from business and the public sector, and in a new language learning experience at Warwick and Coventry Universities!
Following the successful formula run in the North and South of the County and as part of the European Year of Languages activity, the focus was on boys and language learning was addressed.
European and Global Issues In & Across the Curriculum (Primary and Secondary)
Now that Global Citizenship features in the syllabus of many subjects we can design and support a tailor made day to address European and global issues.
European and International Days. (Primary to Secondary)
We can support and advise on cross curricular days/weeks and provide resources, teaching materials and contacts.
Interested in looking at starting or developing European and international activity in your school? A presentation at a staff meeting or on a training day can be arranged or individual advice and support can be given (free of charge of course!) through the Children, Young People and Families Directorate. Please contact the International Development Officer on 01926 742171, email, internationallearning@warwickshire.gov.uk
We look forward to hearing from you!
