One Day Sales or Mock Auctions

One day sales, or mock auctions as they are sometimes referred to, are advertised at short notice, and often held in local community halls or hotels.

The advertising flyers might claim that the sale is being held to get rid of 'bankrupt' stock, ranging from PCs, TVs and Hi-Fi's to china and linen, all at huge discounts.

However, many people find that the advertised bargains don't materialise, and they end up being drawn into 'bidding' for goods that they haven't seen.

Be very sceptical about the claims made at one day sales. Many people have reported being caught up in clever 'bidding' tactics, used by very skilled salespeople! Some have described getting carried away, and 'bidding' for unseen goods in plastic sacks, only to discover when they get out that they've paid over the odds for cheap and nasty quality products.
