British Youth Council
Independent charity and coalition of 150 organisations run for and by young people, in order to represent their views to government, the media and others. It organises and facilitates consultations with young people, supports local youth councils, and runs a participation training programme for young people and practitioners. Tel: 020 7422 8640.

Carnegie Young People Initiative
Promotes the involvement of young people aged 10 to 25 in public decision making. Its ‘Taking the Initiative’ series of reports maps activity to promote young people’s involvement in public decision making in the fields of national and local government, education and health in the UK and Ireland, and overseas. Children and Young People’s and Families Unit
