The Restaurant at Garden Organic Ryton, Nr Rugby is no stranger to the Coventry & Warwickshire Food and Drink Awards, having been previous winners. This year, judges were impressed with the broad range of menu choices and the clever use of a symbol system, acknowledging options suitable for special dietary requirements.

 |  | Many of the fresh ingredients are grown on site and the restaurants Chef can be found daily in the cook’s garden picking herbs. Other local suppliers include, Elmhurst Farm at Withybrooke, who supply a delicious range of local sausages including Pork and Apple, Pork and Leek and Beef and Chilli. During the incognito visit, service was friendly, attentive and efficient and additional information requests were dealt with positively. All items were cooked to a high standard and portion sizes were generous.

Bubbenhall House proprietor, Wendy Harrison has been using good fresh local produce for a number of years and is one of the founder members of the Hearty Breakfast Group, which encourages other local Bed and Breakfast providers across Coventry & Warwickshire to do the same.

 |  | Judges were particularly impressed with the number of menu choices available, including daily specials such as fresh fruit smoothies and fresh breads and croissants.
All food sampled was served at the correct temperature and was well presented. Judges were particularly impressed with the quality of the breakfast sausage and were pleased to see evidence of genuine customer feedback, in relation to the use of a new breakfast supplier.

|  | Commended - Ashton Lodge Country House Hotel & Restaurant, Street Ashton
Judges commented that the establishment provided a high quality and well presented service. Breakfast menus contained detailed descriptions, the muesli starters clearly advertised local ingredients and were of a good standard with an excellent texture.

 |  | The cooked breakfast sampled was generous and the bacon, sausage and black pudding were all of a very good quality. All in all a great culinary experience.
