This course is aimed at advisors; local authority staff; energy managers and householders who want an introduction to the main renewable energy technologies, to include grants, planning issues, economics and combining the different technologies. No previous knowledge or experience of renewable energy is assumed. Events Listing Towards a Low Carbon Economy: Meeting the Carbon Reduction Target, Wednesday 10th March 2010, Central London, 09:15 - 16:00
Cutting emissions to mitigate climate change will also make people healthier, according to research. A special series of article, published in medical journal, the Lancet, outlines how such policies could have a direct impact on global health.
The CRC will cost effectively deliver carbon emission reductions and cost savings in the service sector, public sector and other less energy intensive industries. The CRC is the UK's mandatory climate change and energy saving scheme, due to start in April 2010
The scheme features an annual performance league table that ranks participants on performance. Together with financial and reputational incentives of ranking highly, the scheme encourages organisations to develop energy management strategies that promote a better underatanding of energy consumption.

Events Listing] WWF's Earth Hour, Saturday 27th March, 8:30pm WWF's Earth Hour only began in 2007 but it has already built up a huge international following. In 2009, hundreds of millions of people across the planet switched off the lights. Iconic international landmarks like Sydney Opera House, the pyramids in Giza, the Eiffel Tower, the Empire State Building and Big Ben were all plunged into darkness for 60 minutes.
