RotoractThe Leamington & Warwick Rotaract Club is one of the most successful Rotaract clubs in the area with a strong active membership and an extremely hectic social calendar.
What is Rotaract?
Rotaract is an organisation for 18-30 year olds with clubs throughout the world. It's aim is to enable members to meet people in the area, try out new activities and contribute something back to the local community. The Leamington & Warwick Rotaract Club serves the Coventry and Warwickshire area, and more specifically Leamington and Warwick.
Car WashAs a registered charity the club is obliged to have certain board positions; this year the club President is Dave Gibb, the Vice President and Community officer is Pete Andrews, the Treasurer is Tim Stooks, Nicky Stalker is Secretary, Susanna Burgoyne the Social Co-ordinator, Mark Constable is responsible for the website, the Publicity and Advertising Officer is Matt Dyer and finally Gail Constable is responsible for Fundraising.
They meet every other Thursday at the New Bowling Green Inn in Warwick, on St. Nicholas Church Street, where they discuss future club events and update all members on any club news.
CasinoThe club holds a wide range of events and activities, ranging from pub and club nights, walks in the country, go-karting, cinema and theatre trips, weekend breaks, various sporting activities, paintballing, lazer questing to name just some. Then for those who want to get involved in the fundraising and community side, there's car washing, black tie balls, the hosting of casino nights, marshalling, street collections, as well as regular quiz nights at the Helen Ley Care Centre and helping out with St. Michael's Coffee Shop selling refreshments & toiletries etc
Membership is now in the mid 20s, with new members joining at a very healthy rate. In fact 11 people have joined up in the last year alone. Whether you’re new to the area and want to meet more people, you want to try new activities or want to develop yourself personally, or maybe you simply want to contribute more to your local community, the club has much to offer!
FootballLook out for displays at libraries around the county. Those of you who have visited Warwick library recently may have noticed the display in the foyer for 2 weeks in January.
Future displays include Rugby library between 26th Feb and 12th March, Stratford between 13th March and 26th March and Leamington library between 9th April and 23rd of April.
