Air Quality & Transport - Stratford-on-Avon District
There is currently one declared AQMA within Stratford-on-Avon District at Studley. This relates directly to the high levels of traffic carried through the town by the A435. The A435 was until recently part of the trunk road network, and carries a high level of HGV movements between the M42 (Junction 3), the A46 at Alcester and the M5 at Ashchurch. An Air Quality Action Plan is currently in the process of being prepared for the AQMA.
Monitoring within Stratford-upon-Avon town centre has identified that air quality is deteriorating in a number of locations, including Grove Road, Tiddington Road, Guild Street and Wood Street. Monitoring within Henley-in-Arden has also identified an emerging problem with air quality around the junction of the A3400 and the A4189. Both of these issues may necessitate the declaration of an AQMA in the next 12 months.
