Report from the Conference
20 delegates, including PGCE (Post-Graduate Certificate in Education) students, teachers, LEA Advisers and representatives from the DfES met Rob Burden (author of Cities and Citizenship) who lead a workshop about a new resource, Cities and Citizenship.
| 'In 2007, 50% of the world's population will live in cities. This resource takes case-studies of different aspects of city life from Bogota in Columbia, Nairobi in Kenya, and Karachi in Pakistan to get students to think about citizenship issues such as democracy, participation, identity, and equality, in an active way.' |
