Warwickshire Trading Standards Actions:
Monitoring information & liaison with Animal Health agency & DEFRA
Working with regional National Farmers Union (NFU) officers to provide updated information to farmers
Publishing latest information & advice contact details on Warwickshire Web
Working with the Police on road checks to ensure no illegal movements of susceptible animals occur
Attending sites of collection centres and abattoirs to ensure licence conditions are complied with
Investigating any allegations of illegal activity or animal welfare concerns, whilst ensuring appropriate bio-security
Suspending routine visits to farm premises
Liaising with other agencies to ensure readiness for any suspected disease in Warwickshire
If people suspect animals are moving illegally in Warwickshire they should report it to Warwickshire Trading Standards Service who have the powers to take enforcement action under the FMD Order and the Animal Health Act 1981.
