 | Ladbroke Millennium Green |
 | The villagers of Ladbroke, Warwickshire, in the heart of England, decided to celebrate the Millennium by creating a new facility for people of all ages. The Green was developed on an area of land known as Macklin which has a long recorded history.
The Millennium Green now provides an open air centre for the village with a children's play area, seating, rest areas, wild flower meadow and wildlife habitat. As a focal point they have erected a tall Millennium Stone with a time capsule buried at its base. |

 | The Ladbroke Millennium Green Trust was formed, under the chairmanship of David Halsall, to raise finance, acquire the site and develop and maintain the Millennium Green in accordance with the villagers' wishes and the Trust's aims.
The aims are:
- Make a substantial contribution to the life of the community
- Be able to be enjoyed by people of all ages and physical abilities
- Be open and evident to visitors to the locality as well as inhabitants
- Be an attractive place for people to take air and exercise, meet others and pursue leisure activities and pastimes consistent with shared enjoyment of the whole of the land
- Include an area suitable for community events and celebrations
- Include significant 'natural' areas where people can enjoy nature and wildlife at first hand
- Make a positive contribution to the local environment and respect the established character of the area
- Remain safely and conveniently accessible from inhabitants homes
|
 | The Green is used for outdoor activities including summertime fetes. In addition to providing great entertainment in traditional style, these events raise money for the maintenance and improvement of the Green and for other local causes.
The Ladbroke Millennium Green Trust has received support from numerous generous individuals and organisations and from the sponsoring of seats and trees.
