Training & Development for Service Users and Carers


Getting Involved in Training?
  • Peer Reviewing: training to assess Supporting People services, this will include interviewing and talking with service users at services that are not your own, and looking around the services.
  • Mystery Shopping: training to help service users to test services. Testing will include how welcoming the service is? Is the information they provide helpful? Is it easy to contact the organisation? Do they follow their referral processes? Do they follow their eligibility criteria?
  • Advocacy: training to be able to formally speak on behalf of another person who is less able or confident to do so themself.

  • FREE training Warwickshire Award for Involvement to help assess services and organisations level of service user involvement
  • FREE online courses for example: Finding Your Dream Job, Sports Coaching, Healthy Living, Team Leading, Succeeding at Work, Essential IT Skills, iMedia 1 and 2, various CLAIT courses, Customer Service, Business Improvement Techniques, Personal Best @ Work, Equality ad Diversity, Health and Safety, and Money Management.

    EveryDay Life: Baking, mixing, grilling food safety, food labels, measures, ATM, cash backs, deposits, job application, checking receipts, time sheet, shopping list, prescription, counting pills, bus maps.
    Maths and Money: Planning your budget, using numbers and much more.
