What does the Assessment, Statementing and Review Service do?

We carry out the statutory assessment of special educational needs under the Education Act 1996;

following assessment, issue a Statement of Special Educational Need or a "note-in-lieu" of a statement, setting out a pupil’s needs and the special provision to which they are entitled;

determine the resources to be delegated to schools to deliver the special provision required for pupils with statement;

monitor the provision being made for pupils with statements through Annual Reviews;

implement the Joint Protocols, with the Children in Need Service and Health, in relation to pupils who may be placed in residential education and care;

where appropriate, place pupils in schools outside Warwickshire.

The Service is organised into five areas covering the County:

Central Area

Eastern Area

North Warwickshire Area

Nuneaton and Bedworth Area

Southern Area
