What does the Assessment, Statementing and Review Service do?
- We carry out the statutory assessment of special educational needs under the Education Act 1996;
- following assessment, issue a Statement of Special Educational Need or a "note-in-lieu" of a statement, setting out a pupil’s needs and the special provision to which they are entitled;
- determine the resources to be delegated to schools to deliver the special provision required for pupils with statement;
- monitor the provision being made for pupils with statements through Annual Reviews;
- implement the Joint Protocols, with the Children in Need Service and Health, in relation to pupils who may be placed in residential education and care;
- where appropriate, place pupils in schools outside Warwickshire.

The Service is organised into five areas covering the County:
Central Area
Eastern Area
North Warwickshire Area
Nuneaton and Bedworth Area
