Warwickshire Trading Standards Service Poultry Register

Should there ever be an outbreak of avian influenza (bird flu) in the county of Warwickshire, it will be important for the Trading Standards Service's Animal Health team to know the location and numbers of a range of birds.

Rooster
Keepers of poultry with 50 or more birds kept for commercial purposes are already required to register their flocks with Defra, phone 0800 634 1112 (Lines will be open 8am to 8pm, Monday to Friday, and 9am to 1pm, on Saturday and Sunday).

Warwickshire Standards Service has now launched their own voluntary register for keepers of fewer than 50 birds. Even if you only keep a few birds (from those listed below), we would like to hear from you.

Chickens (including bantams); turkeys; ducks; geese; partridges; quail; pheasants; pigeons (reared for meat); guinea fowl; ostriches; emus and rheas.
