- Drive smoothly. Harsh braking and fast starts will use up to 60% more petrol.
- Use top gear as soon as possible - lower gears can use up to 50% more fuel.
- The faster you go the more fuel you use. 55-65 mph is the most economic speed range for fuel consumption.
- Switch Off the engine in heavy traffic if you are stopped for any length of time.
- Ensure your tyres are not under inflated.
- Share your journey where possible.
- Leave your car in the garage.
- Check wheel alignment and brakes.
