| Catalogues | | |
Many of our collections have been catalogued, and the full catalogues are available on open access shelves in the searchroom. Each collection has a unique reference, and you can locate this reference in two ways, either by:
- visiting Warwickshire's Past Unlocked and making a note of either the accession number (in the 'AccNo' field) or the document reference in the 'DocRefNo' field when viewing a collection or item or
- using our card indexes when you visit.
Once you have identified the reference for the collection, you can use this to find the catalogue you require. The catalogues are kept on open-acess shelves in numerical order, by collection reference.

Before undertaking any research it is advisable to consult printed sources. A main strength of the County Record Office’s library is its collections on works relating to Warwickshire local history. It is reference only.
Each book in our library has a unique reference, and is arranged in order of reference. To find a reference for a book in our library, you can use the library card index by subject, author and place to the collection, which is available in the searchroom. All new library acquisitions, from summer 2004 onwards, are included in the Warwickshire Libraries catalogue. Why not also have a look at Warwickshire Library and Information Service's Warwickshire Reads, the Local Studies and Family History book review?
