Dear Mrs. Stebbing,
I was down for the day at Tunbridge Wells yesterday & found an invitation you had been kind enough to send me. I thought that I had put it in my pocket but cannot find it and l am not sure of the day. My recollection is the 8th - when I can come with great pleasure after the Manser Marriage - but I have also the 12th turning somehow in my mind: but on that day I start for Somerset. I am ashamed of my carelessness but anyhow I shall come over to see you next Sunday afternoon as it is a long time since I had the pleasure of a talk with you & Mr. Stebbing.
Yours very truly
J. W. Cross
