Kingsbury Oil Complex Emergency Instructions for Local Residents | |
Kingsbury Oil complex is a major industrial site classified as a hazardous site under the COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards) regulations 1999. The site is located in North of the county between the villages of Kingsbury and Piccadilly and stores petroleum products for distribution around the country.Three of the sites on the complex - BP, Warwickshire Oil Storage Ltd (WOSL) and Chevron - are classified as top tier COMAH sites. The site also has operations from the British Pipeline Agency (BPA) and Shell. Emergencies at such sites are rare, however it is important that we are prepared. The local authority, in this case Warwickshire County Council, has a duty for preparing plans in case of an emergency occuring on this site to ensure the safety of the surrounding population and environment. | ![]() |
As part of these arrangements Warwickshire County Council's Emergency Planning Unit , in co-operation with North Warwickshire Borough Council, the emergency services and the Kingsbury Oil Complex operators, has produced useful advice for local residents to follow in case an incident occurs. The key message to remember in case of an emergency occuring at the site is to: Leaflets giving further details and advice for local residents on what to do in case of an emergency at the site have been sent to all local residents and businesses.
