What is the Citizens' Panel?
Warwickshire County Council's Citizen's Panel was set up in 2000, as a way of keeping the Council informed about public opinion. It is made up of 1000 Warwickshire residents across the county. People are chosen on the basis of age, gender, where they live, ethnicity, disability etc. in order to be representative of Warwickshire as a whole. The panel is refreshed and updated regularly to make sure good response rates are maintained.

Why have a Citizens' Panel?
Having a Citizens' Panel is a very effective and cost efficient way to:

Maroon Bullet Consult with a representative section of Warwickshire's residents
Maroon Bullet Test awareness of services
Maroon Bullet Get levels of satisfaction
Maroon Bullet Consult with the public as part of a review

What do panel members do?
We consult with panel members about four times a year, usually by postal survey. Each consultation is called a wave. Occasionally, we use the panel to identify and recruit focus groups.
If you would like to be part of our Citizens' Panel, find out more about how to get involved

What happens with the results?
Survey results are passed to relevant service managers, council officers and elected councillors, aswell as any external partners if applicable, to help them make decisions. The panel members receive a copy of the Citizen's Panel Newsletter, which gives results of the consultations they were involved in, and any actions/ changes which the council has made as a result of the feedback.
