| Be Bright, Be Seen | ||
| Have you wondered whether other road users can see you? Every year in Britain, pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists are killed or seriously injured simply because they could not be seen by drivers. Organised walks - Groups of people should wear fluorescent clothes in daylight and reflective clothes in the dark. At night, the look-out in front should carry a white light and the one at the back a red light. People on the outside of large groups should also carry lights and wear reflective clothing. Motorcyclists should make themselves as visible as possible from the side as well as the front and rear. You could wear a white or brightly coloured helmet, fluorescent clothing or strips. Dipped headlights, even in good daylight, may also make you more conspicuous. It's not just adults who need to be safe and be seen - parents should also ensure that children wear bright clothing and accessories when they go out. Being visible is not expensive - the following suggestions should help you to arrive alive at your destination:
