Information for professionals
All professionals who work with children, young people and families need to understand what bullying is and how to tackle it. We all have a duty to keep children safe and promote their physical and emotional wellbeing. On this page you will find some general information, useful for people working in any setting. When thinking about anti-bullying work, need to think about how we will work to prevent bullying, and how we will respond to bullying situations. In general terms, we all need to ensure that children and young people:
- feel safe and able to participate in school and other activities
- are involved in ongoing consultaton about bullying (and other issues)
- are able to learn about bullying, relationships and emotional wellbeing in schools and other settings
- are able to access appropriate information and support in relation to bullying

We are currently developing a multi-agency good practice guide – you will be able to download this from this site shortly.
During the next few months we will be developing and piloting an anti-bullying quality assurance scheme (‘kitemark’). If you would like to find out more about this and/or get involved, please contact us.
