My Dearest Isaac
We are just come in from the Cathedral, where we have most thoroughly enjoyed the service, it is beautiful and imposing and altho most solemn it seems to me the proudest day of my life and it would have been the happiest if only you had been with me, that I greatly longed for. I feel so happy and so satisfied about dear Fred, and so is he but he expressed over and over again his deep regret that you were not present. I am so glad we came, I would not for the world that he should have taken this most important step in his life, without some loving heart and sympathising eye near him.
He did not come back with us as they are all gone to the Chapter House to have a little talk with the Bishop, we expect him every minute and are going to dine at 3. I was so glad to have your note and WaIter's, his was written and expressed so very well, we have great cause for thankfulness in our children- & Lynes dined with us yesterday today we shall be alone- with hearts full of love and thankfulness. Edith joins me in best love to you & WaIter and believe me dearest Isaac your faithful and truly affectionate wife
