My dear Father,
I have so far prosecuted my enquiries as to find that the income of S Georges vicarage is considerably over £500. But I am not sufficiently sure as yet. One does not like to bother poor Mrs. Mottram with such things as yet, and Piercy is not quite 'up' in such things. The drawback to the place in the way of money is that the rates are very high. At any rate there is no doubt that I should be much better off than I am now. Piercy says the income is £590.
I hope to hear from you tomorrow morning and to arrange a meeting. I do not want to keep Boyle waiting for a decision longer than I can help. We had a meeting this morning to elect a church warden & I must say I was very well received and by many pressed to accept it. I should think no living could come to one under nicer circumstances. Unless you object very much I have quite made up my mind to take it -
My best love
Your affect
