Waste Core Strategy - Emerging Spatial Options consultation


Warwickshire County Council recently consulted on its Emerging Spatial Options document as part of the Warwickshire Council Council Waste Development Framework Core Strategy. The consultation ran from the
21st March 2011 to the 20th May 2011.

The comments received will help us to decide which spatial option and draft policies should be put forward for consideration in the next stage of the plan. This will be a 'Preferred Option and Draft Policies' document, due for consultation in September 2011.

The consultation sought comments on:
  • 5 'spatial options' for locating new waste development in the County over the next 15 years
  • Key waste planning issues that have been refined through previous stages of consultation
  • 13 broad policy directions/draft Policy Principles to address the key issues for waste planning
  • The Vision and Key Objectives for the Waste Core Strategy
Comments could be submitted:
As part of the consultation, exhibition boards were displayed in libraries throughout the County. Alongside this, "drop in" sessions were arranged to enable consultees to speak to a member of the Waste Planning Policy team. Timetable of library exhibitions and drop in sessions

STOP PRESS: On the 31.03.2011, CLG published an amendment to Planning Policy Statement 10: Planning for Sustainable Waste Management. The changes that have been proposed will be taken on board and reflected in the next stage of our consultation.
