Transport for Students on Medical Grounds
Does my child qualify for transport on medical grounds?
Applicants must
· live at a home address in the administrative area of Warwickshire County Council
· be 4 to 19 years of age
· have short or long term medical needs which make getting to school/college difficult
Eligibility will be assessed using the application form which must be accompanied by a letter from a doctor or other medical professional to confirm the medical circumstances and how these affect the child’s ability to get to school.
Successful applicants will normally be attending their nearest appropriate school or college. This is the establishment in whose priority area you live (or another if nearer to home by the shortest walking route).
Please note - Applications that are not fully completed or with insufficient medical evidence will be rejected.
Once we have agreed that Medical Transport is appropriate it may take a minimum of five working days to organise the arrangements.
Successful applicants are responsible for notifying Education Transport if there are any changes in circumstances. If it is found that students have continued to use the Medical Transport provided although their improved medical condition made special arrangements unnecessary, parents will be invoiced for the full cost of that provision.
