Natural History
Displays of natural history specimens around 1916
Natural History is the study of the natural environment, which includes plants, animals, fungi and microbes, plus the habitats they inhabit. Collecting specimens has long accompanied the local study of wildlife. Some of our specimens are on display in our galleries and temporary exhibitions, but we also hold many less showy items that have a huge scientific value.
