What does the Area Committee do?
North Warwickshire Area Committee covers a large rural area of Warwickshire that includes Atherstone, Coleshill and Polesworth.
The Area Committee:
- it has responsibility for making some decisions and recommendations about County Council services in your area:
- provides a local view on the big issues affecting the County;
- helps to monitor how well the County Council is performing locally;
- takes decisions on grants to local organisations;
- provides an opportunity for local people to be involved
- and also attend quarterly Area Forum meetings

Local Transport Plan 3
Have your say on the future of transport in Warwickshire
The Local Transport Plan (LTP) sets out the transport strategy for Warwickshire and outlines a programme of transport schemes and initiatives to be delivered over the short to medium term. Targets are set within the Plan so that progress towards meeting the strategy objectives can be measured.
We are seeking views of the public and transport interest groups to help inform the review of the Plan. This consultation will be in three stages:
Stage 1: Prioritising goals and issues for the new LTP (Summer 2009);
Stage 2: Identifying preferred options and the strategy to deal with the goals and issues identified in Stage 1 (Winter 2009);
Stage 3: Commenting on the draft document (Spring 2010).
