 | Following advice from Government Office West Midlands (GO-WM) and Communities and Local Government over the summer perioed we have reviewed our process and approach. As a result a report was taken to Cabinet on 15th November amending the MWDS again.
In detail, the Minerals and Waste Core Strategies need to be taken back to spatial options instead of moving to submmision as previously planned.
The revised MWDS was brought into effect on 11th December 2007.
A report was considered by Cabinet on the 22nd February 2007, amending the MWDS.

However, as referred to in the Cabinet report, we have to produce a Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA). The Environment Agency have confirmed that this needs to be complete prior to submission of the Waste Core Strategy and as such the amended MWDS was not brought into effect. Submission will therefore be delayed, as approved by Cabinet. Consultants have been appointed to undertake the SFRA. The Level 1 assessment has now been completed and can be found here.
The Minerals and Waste Development Scheme had been amended a second time changing the programme for the Minerals Core Strategy. The amendments have been approved by GOWM and brought into effect on the 28th November 2006.
The Minerals and Waste Development Scheme had previously been amended following approval by GO-WM and cabinet and had been brought into effect on 25th November 2005. | | |

 | The original MWDS was formally submitted to the GO-WM on 24th March 2005. GO-WM advised the County Council in a letter dated 14th April 2005, that the First Secretary of State does not intend to issue a direction under Section 15(4) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004. A report was taken to Cabinet on 26th May 2005, at which Members resolved to bring into effect the MWDS, which formally took effect from the 9th June 2005.
