Mid-2005 Population Estimates
On 24th August 2006, the Office for National Statistics released their annual, local authority level mid-year population estimates for 2005. These pages contain the latest population information for local authorities within Warwickshire.

The population of Warwickshire now stands at 533,900 - an increase of 8,500 people (or 1.6%) on the mid-2004 of 525,500. The County population is growing at the fastest rate across the West Midlands Region, although the majority of growth is located within the districts of Stratford-on-Avon and Warwick. Virtually all of the increase in population has been due to high levels of net in-migration.

Confused by all the different geographies in Warwickshire?
There are a number of different types of geography in the UK and Warwickshire. Geography is key to nearly all National Statistics as it provides a basis for collecting, processing and aggregating statistical data.

Unfortunately, geography in Warwickshire can prove confusing. There are many different types of geography (administrative, electoral, statistical etc) which have been subject to boundary revisions in the recent past. In addition, new geographies, such as Super Output Areas have been introduced. These changes mean that it is difficult to produce and compare meaningful statistics over time. These pages try to help unravel the confusion that exists around Warwickshire's geography.
