| Course Overview | | Managing Change and Employee Involvement – Pat Hicks, Acas
(AM session)
One of the essential steps towards becoming an employer of choice is making employees feel that they are involved in your business – that their opinions and ideas are valued. Employee involvement is also an essential part of effective change management. If you have ever been frustrated by a seemingly negative and obstructive response to change among your employees then this workshop is for you.
The training session will look at ways of involving employees in decisions which affect them at work. We will cover different models of employee consultation, including an overview of the Information and Consultation regulations which will affect any business which employs 50 people or more.
In addition we will look at how people respond to change and how you work towards creating a workplace where change is embraced rather than resisted.
HSE Management Standards for Work-Related Stress – Trudie Donnelly, TD-Stress Consulting
(PM session)
Stress in the workplace is undeniable and the HSE estimates that work-related stress cost Great Britain in excess of £530 million in 2007. The costs however are more than financial with the impact of stress being felt not only by the individual, but by the team, the organisation and by external customers and clients as well. Yet many employers are still unclear about how and where to start to take control of stress.
This training session will explain the legal context surrounding stress at work and how the HSE Standards can help employers to identify, prevent, and tackle work-related stress. |
