Services provided
Our services to care leavers may include the following:
Needs Assessment
Pathway Plan
Personal Advisor - We, the local authority, have the responsibility of providing a Young Person's advisory service and deploying named specialists in this role to advise, support and broker services for care leavers.
Young Person's Personal Organiser - In part designed by young people, a Personal Organiser will be issued to all Eligible Young Persons, Relvant Young Persons and Former Relevant Young Persons. It will include useful information across a range of subjects, and will contain a copy of their Pathway Plan summary.
Supported Lodgings - Saturn is a supported lodgings scheme for young people, 17 years plus who are leaving care, offering them an opportunity to learn a range of independent living skills and to develop the self confidence and maturity needed to manage on their own. Saturn carers will be offering a stepping stone between childhood and adulthood. They will provide a room in a house and access to cooking and other shared facilities. In addition they will offer practical advice and emotional support to a young person who is preparing to live independently. For more information on the Saturn scheme visit our Fostering pages.
