Geology of Warwickshire
Trilobitemammoth

The geology of Warwickshire is extremely varied and has been the subject of scientific investigation for over 200 years. The County includes many different rocks and fossils, dating back more than 600 million years. These provide evidence for some remarkable past environments, ranging from volcanic islands, coal swamps and tropical seas, to tundra-like conditions during the last ice age. Many divisions of geological time are represented.
