Governor Training

Governor Development ensures all school governors in Warwickshire receive the support, advice and training necessary to make them effective governors and enable them to fulfil their statutory duty to promote school improvement.

We are able to help you with:

An Training Programme 2010/11 sent to all Warwickshire governors
A helpline to all governors in Warwickshire (01926 413722 or governors@warwickshire.gov.uk)
Queries on all aspects of the governing body’s role and responsibilities (If we don’t know the answer we always know someone who does!)
Advice and practical help with restructuring the governing body’s committees and working parties.
Induction of new governors
Programme of more specialist courses including developing school leaders and succession planning, finance and school improvement topics including self-evaluation.
Provision of in house training - almost all topics available.
Up to the minute briefings available on all the latest topics/issues including Children Act, Extended Schools, Child Protection.
Training available to purchase by subscription or on a buy as you go basis.
